Axon Capture

The Axon Capture Chrome extension lets you capture screenshots and extract Markdown from any webpage directly into your Axon projects. Use it to quickly save articles, reports, or specific sections for later analysis.

Getting Started

  • Sign in to Axon in your browser (visit axn.to and log in).
  • Open the extension popup and select the project where you want to save captures.
  • Choose Select Section to pick specific content, or Full Page to capture the entire page.

Select Section

Use this when you want to capture a specific part of a page—a paragraph, a block of text, or an element like a table or list.

  1. Click Select Section in the extension popup.
  2. Hover over the page. A green outline highlights the element under your cursor.
  3. You can select text with your mouse before clicking—the extension will use your text selection if present.
  4. Click the element you want to capture. A dialog appears asking what content to save.
  5. Choose Selected content only to save only the markdown from your selection or the clicked element.
  6. Or choose Full page to save the markdown from the entire page instead.

The screenshot always captures the full page (with a height warning for very tall pages). The choice you make affects only which markdown content is saved—the selected portion or the whole page.

Full Page

Captures the entire page in one step—both a full-page screenshot and the full page content as markdown. No selection mode; it runs immediately on the current tab.

What Gets Saved

  • Screenshot: A full-page PNG image of the page as it appears in your browser.
  • Markdown: The text content converted to markdown—either from your selection or from the full page, depending on your choice.
  • Metadata: Source URL, page title, and link to the artifact in your project.
